They include, from l to r, Parker Longstreth, Grayson Coston, Scarlett Tenwalde, Coleson Gasche, Raelynn Myers, Blake Simpson, Zayne Hamilton, Ethan Maka and Tarryn Hannahs. Congrats and #GoBeavers.

SINGALONG AT BES: Now *that* was a Christmas sendoff. We had singing. We had dancing. We had Santa doing The Griddy (ask a kid what it is.) And we had a steel-cage musical chairs showdown for the ages. The video tells the tale: https://youtu.be/BXmu1gYzrcg. Happy Holidays, Beaver Nation. We'll see you next year. #GoBeavers

SEASON'S GREETINGS: This holiday season, try to slow down. Relax. Enjoy the time with your loved ones. And...breathe. Your friends at Beaverton Schools thank you for helping make our successes possible this year, and we wish you a prosperous and joyful 2025. Classes resume on Jan. 6.

WE WISH YOU A MERRY LIVESTREAM: Join the virtual party this afternoon as BES presents its annual Kindergarten Christmas Program live and in full color. The show starts streaming at 1:40 p.m. on the Beaverton Schools YouTube channel at https://rb.gy/grl1oc. #I'mTellingYouWhy

GRINCHY GREETING: Like sleighbells and candy canes, a visit from the Grinch is practically a holiday tradition at Beaverton Elementary. Today was the big day, and as kids approached the front doors of the school, they grabbed the chance to exchange hugs and high-fives with the gangly green guy. #UnwashedSocks

While our students were excited to perform in their play this afternoon, we have decided to cancel due to the current road conditions. More information will come at a later date for the rescheduled performance. Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe!

"THAT GIRL IS TOTALLY OFF HER TUFFET": Don't even think about missing the BJSHS Drama Dept.'s play "Doc, Doc...Goose!" this Sunday, Dec. 15 at the BAC. It's gonna be a wild show, as BES students can attest; they got a sneak preview this afternoon. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show, and tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students, veterans and young children.

IT'S WRITTEN IN THE STARS: Say howdy to November's BES Students of the Month: Liam Ryan, Caroline McLaren, Neveah Lewis, Delbert Shinabarger, Bodie Wood, Kaden Komlassan, Bentley Newton, Ember McDonald and Emma Knake. Congrats and #GoBeavers.

A MAJOR DEAL: Beaverton math teacher Kossi Komlassan woke up a Captain in the Michigan Army National Guard this morning, but he'll go to bed with a new title. BJSHS was the ceremonial site for Komlassan's promotion to Major this afternoon, and he was surrounded by his family, his lieutenant colonel and the entire sophomore class he instructs every day. As Operations Officer for the 119th Field Artillery Regiment - AKA the Red Lions - Komlassan knows all about leadership, commitment and getting the job done well, and it was a proud day for the entire district.. Check out the video of the ceremony at https://t.ly/Vyz6r. Congratulations, Major. #Respect #GoBeavers

IT'S TIME TO LIGHT THE LIGHTS: Don't miss the only showing of the BJSHS Drama Dept.'s play "Doc, Doc...Goose!" this Sunday, Dec. 15 at the BAC. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show, and tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students, veterans and young children. #ANightAtTheTheatre #GoBeavers

Good morning. We are currently in talks with our Admin and road commission on our scheduled Girls game this evening with Harrison. We hope to have a decision made around noon. There will be no youth/middle school and sub varsity practices. please watch for posted updates. Thank you.

HOPEFUL, THOUGHTFUL, GRATEFUL: Wishes for a restful and safe Thanksgiving holiday from your friends at Beaverton Schools. Classes resume Monday, Dec. 2. #Gratitude #GoBeavers

BUS CHAT: It's not really possible to overemphasize proper school bus safety and behavior, so BES Principal Shawna Hartwell brought each grade out to a bus this morning for a refresher course. Topics included keeping one's hands to oneself, appropriate language and volume and the correct method to cross in front of the bus. Hartwell also introduced Bus Bucks, a good behavior incentive that can be redeemed with teachers for fun and prizes. #SafetyFirst #GoBeavers

THAT’S THE TICKET: The holidays are looming. For everybody with those impossible-to-shop-for friends and family, how about a Beaverton Athletics season pass? Applicable to all BJSHS-affiliated sports, you can pick them up at the office at a cost of $125 for a same-household family; $75 for adult individuals; and $50 for students. #NoSocksThisYear

STATE OF THE ART: The fundraising partnership between BES, its art students and Square 1 Art gives you the opportunity to see your student’s creations brought to life in many different applications. Visit t.ly/wJXTE to view your student’s art, and then head over to the shop at t.ly/nyM0p to choose the items for purchase. You can even upload more art at t.ly/qSGSU if you want. Act now - the holidays are coming and the deadline is Nov. 20.. #FineArt

MAKE A DENTAL NOTE: Parents and guardians, don’t forget that the Dental Bus will be making its annual visit to Beaverton Schools Nov. 18-20, providing kids with the opportunity for checkups, cleanings and X-rays as needed. Students in grades K-8 were given consent forms to bring home, and those need to be returned to the school ASAP; if you need a new form, stop by the school office. #DentalHealth
