PTO Field Day is coming soon! On Wednesday, May 31st the Beaverton PTO will be hosting a field day for all Beaverton Elementary students. They will have the opportunity to participate in various fun activities. Please have them dress in outdoor gear, wear their sunscreen, and fill those water bottles! If you would like to volunteer please check out the Facebook page "Beaverton Elementary PTO" for more information.

A Day At The Capital! Because of our partnership with Mid Michigan Community Health Services some of our Wellness Team was able to take a few of our youth to an Advocacy Day at the State Capital yesterday. The School Community Health Alliance of Michigan hosted an event that allowed meetings with a few of our local legislators and the chance to get on the House of Representatives floor and be recognized during session. This day was better than we could have expected and we hope to be able to share the day with more of our youth in the future!

Beaverton Elementary Carnival Dance. Music, games, and sweet treats on May 31st from 3:15-4:30pm. Cost is $3.00 per person for any student in grades 4th - 6th. This is hosted by our elementary student council.

LIVE, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER: Graduation tips off tonight at 7 p.m. in the gym. If you can make it, excellent. If you can't, we'll be livestreaming on our YouTube channel at bit.ly/4256sc3. And while you're there, please be sure to subscribe to the channel to ensure more of the same.

We hope you can join us next Thursday, June 1st! This event is for kindergarten - 3rd grade students.

PENULTIMATE: Yesterday was last day of classes, and tomorrow is graduation (A.K.A. the REAL last day). That makes today practice day. Seniors convened in the gym for a commencement walkthrough, then took the traditional victory lap through the elementary for the adoring masses.

A GUBERNATORIAL GREETING: It’s a blink-and-you'll-miss it kind of thing, but when BJSHS’s very own math teacher and U.S. Army Captain Kossi Komlassan was recently deployed to Latvia with the Michigan National Guard, he crossed paths with Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Komlassan was able to secure a message from Whitmer to this week’s graduates, which you can view at bit.ly/3BKYcTS. You can read more about Komlassan’s mission and the governor’s visit at bit.ly/3MMzvN1 and bit.ly/438QL4C.

FROM THE HEART: Graduation is Thursday at 7 p.m. To view a special message for the Class of '23, click the photo or go here:
