Book Fair Reminder
Dear Parents and Families,

We know that every family faces different challenges at different times, and sometimes knowing where to turn for help can make all the difference. At Beaverton Schools, we care about the well-being of our students and families, both inside and outside the classroom. We want to help make sure our families are aware of the many wonderful resources and support services available within our community.

Each month, we will highlight a resource or support service available to families through 211, helping you discover the different ways this valuable community resource can provide assistance when you need it most.

This Month's Resource Spotlight: Michigan 211

Did you know that 211 is a free, confidential service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Think of 211 as a central hub that helps connect individuals and families with a wide variety of local programs, organizations, and support services.

Whether you're looking for a little extra help or navigating a more challenging time, 211 can help connect you with resources for:
- Food and basic necessities
- Housing and utility assistance
- Transportation
- Health care and mental health support
- Financial assistance
- Holiday meals, gifts, and seasonal support
- And so much more!
With the holiday season approaching, many holiday assistance programs are now available. We encourage families who may benefit from these services to explore their options and reach out early, as some programs have limited availability or application deadlines.

Connecting with 211 is easy!

- Call: Dial 2-1-1
- Text: Send your ZIP code to 898211 (TXT211)
- Online: mi211.org

Please know that reaching out for support is always okay. Whether your family needs assistance today or you simply want to learn what resources are available for the future, 211 is a wonderful place to start.

Our hope is that every family in our district knows they are supported, valued, and never alone. We are a community that cares, and we're here to help one another!

HOCO DAY STARTS EARLY IN BEAVERTON!

One of our favorite Homecoming traditions was back first thing this morning!

Our Beaverton football players helped kick off HOCO Day by heading over to the elementary school to greet our younger Beavers as they arrived — and then made their way into classrooms to keep the excitement going!

High fives, big smiles, and plenty of BEAVER PRIDE to start the day!

There’s just something special about our big Beavers showing up for our little Beavers.

HOCO 2026 is officially underway!

📚 Keep the Reading Going! ☀️

There’s still time to make the most of summer reading!

We encourage all students who were in Kindergarten through 5th grade this past school year to keep reading before school begins.

Don’t forget to:

📖 Complete activities on your Summer Reading Bingo sheet.

📚 Log every book you read on the Kids Read Now website.

We’ll use both your completed Bingo sheet and your Kids Read Now reading log to determine prizes, and we’ll celebrate all of our summer readers at our Fall with Families event!

Happy reading—we can’t wait to celebrate your hard work this fall! 🍎🎉
