Governor Whitmer ordered all Michigan residents to remain at home to avoid further spread of COVID-19 and that order has now been extended through at least the end of April. We had hoped that the stay at home order would be lifted soon and that we would be able to take part in the many end-of-year traditions that we have loved. However, it is clear to us now that this is not the case.
I am so sorry to inform you that Prom, scheduled for Saturday, May 2, has been canceled. Also canceled is the 8th grade trip to Mackinac Island. We know that these are two of the many events you were looking forward to this spring. We are sure that this is upsetting to students, parents, and friends, but it is necessary.
Decisions on other planned events will be made in the coming weeks including awards presentations at graduation.
During this crisis, we must put the health and safety of all students first.
School staff had the opportunity, on a limited basis, to come into the school today to work on supporting our students. We were greeted with these words of encouragement and artwork. Thank you to whomever was thinking of us as we take on our new educational challenge! We love our Beaverton Community! #GoBeavers

This is a useful opportunity for juniors and seniors. Check it out!

MHSAA Cancels Remainder of 2019-20 Winter & Spring Season
EAST LANSING, Mich. – April 3 – The Michigan High School Athletic Association has canceled the remainder of the 2019-20 Winter and Spring sports seasons, in compliance with the Thursday (April 2) “state of disaster” directive by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer closing school buildings and moving education online for the remainder of the school year to help decrease the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. This will be the first school year to not see MHSAA Finals played in multiple sports since 1942-43, when World War II led to the elimination of Finals in most sports.
We are thinking of our student-athletes, parents, coaches and fans. GO RED!

As you have likely heard, schools in Michigan have been shut down for the rest of the year by executive order of the governor. We know that our Beaverton families have a lot of questions about what we are doing and what you should do next. Please be patient as we continue to work on our plan for our students. We are trying to keep the best interests of our students in mind as we design educational opportunities for all of them. More information will be shared with you as our work is completed.
We are strong together! #GoBeavers
